How to get licensed: Hong Kong
Official procedure
- Apply for and pass the Hong Kong Radio Amateurs' Examination (HKRAE), using form A0004. You can choose Chinese or English for the examination. Official procedure [7]
- Apply for the Amateur Station Licence with form A201 and evidence of the examination pass (or a Radio Amateur's Certificate). Official procedure [8]

- HKRAE is HK$350 and the Amateur Station Licence is HK$150 per year, making HK$500 for the examination and first licence year. An optional Radio Amateur's Certificate costs HK$120; it is not required if the examination-pass proof is used. [8]
