Official procedure
- For entry level, complete a KARL fourth-class amateur operator course, which does not require a separate exam; alternatively apply for an amateur operator examination through KCA. Official procedure [7]

Official timeframe: The government service lists 7 days to process a station application with conformity-assessed equipment, or 14 days without it; this is after qualification and application. [1]
Applicant report since 2025: A blogger applied for the amateur station permit on the e-civil-service portal on 27 April 2026 and it was processed on 11 May, after which the permit with call sign could be issued from the portal; a separate completion inspection must then be requested. [11]
