官方期限: NCC公告的資格測試每週一、三、五舉辦（假日不辦）；週一、週五現場報名、隨報隨考免預約，週三採預約並以團體優先。測試後即可申請人員執照。 [11]

Official procedure
- Apply to the National Communications Commission (NCC) for the Class 3 amateur operator examination; bring the application form, identity document and examination fee. Official procedure [7]
- After passing, apply to NCC for the operator licence within ten years; then apply separately for approval and licensing of an amateur station before operating. Official procedure [8]

- NCC charges NT$200 for the operator examination and NT$500 for the operator licence. A station also has separate review/inspection and NT$500 station licence charges, depending on its type. [10]
- Processing time
Official timeframe: NCC's published qualification tests run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (not on holidays); Monday and Friday are walk-in with no booking, Wednesday is by appointment with groups first. You can then apply for the operator licence. [11]
Applicant report since 2025: A blogger sat the Class 3 test on site at an NCC office on 30 Dec 2025 with almost no queue; test plus handheld inspection took about 70 minutes and both operator and station licences were in hand the same day. [12]
